Buyers Tips

Buying property (whether it be your first time or your 10th time), is always a big decision. Depending on your circumstances, it can become quite overwhelming to sift through all the different options out there to find which best suits your needs.

To help take the pressure off, consider the following before approaching an Agent for assistance:

1. Know What You Want

It sounds simple right? However you would be surprised by the number of people who haven’t quite thought it through as well as they imagined. The first and most important question to ask yourself is:

  • How much can I afford?

It’s always a good idea to see your broker or bank before shortlisting or inspecting property in order to determine the answer to this question. From here, things get a little easier and you’re left with the following;

  • How many bedrooms & bathrooms do you need?
  • Block size & location
  • Your preferred features (e.g. brick, type of heating/cooling, are built-in wardrobes or a garage important? etc… )
  • What is my over all plan for the property? (long term or short term)

These are just some of the basics to consider, but the process will become far more flowing once these things are established.

2. Talk, Talk, TALK to your Agent!

You wouldn’t give your doctor half a story, and expect an accurate diagnosis or appropriate treatment. It’s the same for your Agent. We can’t 100% assist you to the best of our ability if we haven’t got all the necessary information.

Prepared and successful purchasers have a list of questions and requests at the ready- and these buyers are always the first to snap up prime property. Help us help you, and ensure to make time for an appointment to discuss how we can match you to your dream property. This may well put you in a position to secure property not yet on the market, and avoid all of that stressful competition.
